Tasks and responsibilities:

To support the activities of our Service Team for the EPS-SG mission at EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany, we are currently seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic System Engineer. The tasks will focus on E2E System activities, with emphasis on Satellite and Operational related aspects. The key-person will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Justification of the system design including producing and maintaining any relevant analyses and budgets
  • General contribution to system engineering activities
  • Participate to System level formal reviews and key points
  • Provide System Engineering contributions during the design phase and contribute actively to the definition of the IV&V activities
  • Contribute to the customization of ECSS standards covering the end-to-end system and operations.
  • Contribute to the review and consolidation of ICDs, including PUS-related Space to Ground ICDs. 
  • Help maintain documentation of System level design, specifications, and interfaces, including M&C aspects.
  • Assistance with analysis and trade-off activities
  • Contribute to Project Teams as an Ops prep engineer for LEO Mission System reviews and provide support to Space and Ground Segment level reviews as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or another related field
  • Proven and demonstrated of experience in the field of space and ground segment system engineering, specifically monitoring and control (M&C) of polar LEO satellites
  • Proven experience in the requirements-based design and development process using DOORS and the ECSS standards
  • Knowledge of the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard (PUS), including customization and application
  • Prior experience with satellite operations or operations preparation would be considered an asset
  • Experience with development of System Procedures and E2E Operational Interfaces
  • Experience with Operational Scenarios Validation and coordination of procedures testing phases
  • Experience in campaigns of Ops validation (TRR/TRB/Simulations/SIOV Rehearsals etc.)
  • Experience in Integration Verification and Validation phases
  • Familiarity with the Configuration Control processes and tools
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and have a systematic approach to work
  • Ability to plan work schedule, considering tight planning and multiple tasks
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
