Technical Requirements This SoW is covering a Spacecraft Operations Engineer position to work as part of the Swarm Flight Control Team. The position is for supporting the SOM during the pre-launch operations preparation, validation and the Launch and Operations phases of Swarm with

  • SVT preparation
  • Mission Control System Validation
  • Mission Planning System and interfaces validation
  • Simulator Validation
  • Training and Simulations
  • Operations Preparation
  • LEOP & Commissioning Preparation
  • Conduct satellite operations on-line and off-line
More specifically, the functions to be primarily covered on Swarm are:

 

  • In terms of satellite units, the work will primarily be for the payload subsystems
  • Participation on the generic ground segment and mission operations tasks, , with emphasis on the testing and operations of the Mission Plannning System and the associated external interfaces
  • Being part of the LEOP team, and of the on-call engineer pool during flight

 

In addition to the tasks on Swarm, assistance for other missions in preparation by the division could be required by the Swarm SOM for the same type of activities.

 

Academic Requirements

Applicants should have a University (or similar) degree in engineering or physics together with  some professional experience in spacecraft and/or operational applications

 

Specific Requirements
Applicants should have basic knowledge of all spacecraft subsystems. Detailed knowledge of the satellite and ground subsystems listed in the technical description is desirable.
