Technical Requirements

LSE Space is looking for an Engineer (m/f) fulfilling the task of Spacecraft Operations Engineering for AOCS, TCS and EPS Subsystems in the Galileo Engineering Shift Team for our customer GfR in Oberpfaffenhofen.

 

The objective of the Spacecraft Operations Shift Engineer is the preparation, validation and execution of operations related to the AOCS, TCS and EPS subsystems in a 24/7 shift pattern.

 

The main tasks of the position will be:

·         Preparation of Flight Operations Procedures (FOP)

·         Writing of procedures

·         Adaptation of procedures to new databases and procedures delivered by industry

·         Definition of validation scenarios

·         FOP validation, testing and result reporting

·         Preparation of and participation in SCTs and simulations

·         Test and validation of operational items like CSIM, ASW, ODB, SCCF and MOIS

·         Participation in and provision of training (spacecraft subsystems, Ops tools, Ops concepts)

·         Anomaly reports handling (writing, action processing, support of review boards)

·         Operations support

·         24/7 satellite monitoring and control in routine operations (shift team tasks)

·         24/7 execution of special and contingency operations during PF Commissioning, IOT and routine phase

·         Offline analysis of the subsystem performance

·         Contingency Flight Operations on Flying Satellites

·         Reporting (definition and set up of reports and trend analysis

·         Data Base tuning

·         Routine special OPS and satellite maintenance

 

Academic Requirements

A University degree in an engineering discipline is required.

Specific Requirements

Required qualifications and work experience:      

·         Proven experience in S/C operations

·         Knowledge of the GALILEO project

·         Willing to work in a 24/7 shift environment

·         Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, in particular good knowledge of AOCS, TCS and EPS subsystems

·         Experience with pre-launch activities and launch campaigns

 

Additional skills required:

  • System-minded and a team player
  • Very good social skills
  • Able to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
  • German language skills would be an asset
