Technical Requirements

The main tasks of the position will be:

·         Requirements analysis and operational concept development;

·         Definition, production and validation of the operational mission data, in cooperation with the facility and satellite experts;

·         Preparation for, and execution of SVTs, rehearsal and simulation campaigns and support to anomaly investigation & resolution;

·         Supporting the definition of the operations interfaces with internal and external

·         Interactions with Simulator and training officer, for team proficiency training, rehearsal and simulation, and support to the operations team build-up;

·         Support to LEOP and Satellite In-Orbit Validation operations, as well as System commissioning operations.

 

Qualifications / Experience

In addition to having a University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, the key personnel shall have a demonstrated experience of spacecraft and related ground segment development and operations in their relevant service domain (i.e. payload), in particular:

 

·         Experience of at least 4 years of Spacecraft Operations on Low Earth Orbit (LEO), 3-Axis Stabilised Spacecraft with responsibility for one or more instrument subsystems during operation preparation, LEOP, commissioning or routine operations phases;

·         Experience of LEO satellite mission activity planning/scheduling;

·         Engineering expertise obtained in the development and operations of satellite payload;

·         Experience with development and validation of operational spacecraft procedures for nominal and contingency- recovery cases;

·         Familiarity with procedure change control process and configuration management of spacecraft operations systems;

·         Experience in PUS implementation as per ECSS-E-ST-70-41C;

·         Familiarity with SCOS2K control system and MOIS procedure development system;

·         Programming skills and excellent computer literacy with MS Office packages.

Background information

LSE Space is looking for an experienced Instrument Satellite Operations Engineer for Sentinel-3 (m/f) in order to provide support to our customer in Darmstadt.

The Instrument Satellite Operations Engineer will be integrated into the operations of the Sentinel-3 satellite operations preparation team.

The Satellite Operations Engineer (SOE) will work on the operations preparations, covering all satellite and system (FOS/PDGS/external interfaces) components aspects related to the operation engineering for the payload and instrument, including the PDHU and OLCI, MWR, SRAL, SLSTR, DORIS and GNSS instruments.
