Technical Requirements

LSE Space is looking for 2 experienced Ground Operations Engineers (m/f) in order to provide support to Galileo FOC Operations Services in Oberpfaffenhofen.

The Galileo Ground Operations Engineer will be involved in the preparation phase within Galileo FOC operations.

The main tasks of the position will be:

·Prepare/support/execute SI&V activities (GSIV/SIV/SFT/Testing Coordination and Execution, etc.)

·Prepare/support/execute validation activities

·Definition of validation scenarios, plans, etc.

·Procedure development and validation, testing, result reporting

·Prepare/support/execute software engineering activities

·Ensure/support databases preparation, coordination, synchronisation, verification

·Give support to training and simulation campaigns

·Support internal/external services/activities

·Monitor performance services and trigger corrective actions

·Generate and maintain ground operations documentation

·Follow up/support reviews and milestones

·Interface to the management, ground and flight operations team

·Generate reports as required

·Take over ground position/duty on call (support of routine, special and contingency operations during PF Commissioning, IOT and routine phase inclusive provision of shift and on-call support)

·Preparation of and participation in SVT/SCTCs and simulations

·Anomaly Reports handling (writing, action processing, support of review boards)

·Operations Support (including MOIS application and software)

·Offline analysis of the subsystem performance

·Operational Support Tools (OPSWEB): User manual generation and documentation support. Training documentation and training support. Development and customization

·Ground operations planning and coordination of ground activities

·Participation in internal and external meetings

Academic Requirements

University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline

Specific Requirements
  • Experience in ground and spacecraft operations preparation and execution (LEOP, Commissioning, Routine, Contingency)
  • System-minded and a team player
  • Able to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Fluent in English, both in speech and writing
